I'm stupid [Tuesday, Nov. 6th, 2007|10:30 pm]
[Current Mood | frustrated]

Oh god, I can't believe how stupid I am. Yet AGAIN.

Totally no mood to study now. And I still have like 200 pages to go.

*cries*

PMS is probably playing a part here.

ARGHHH!

Sorry that I haven't been updating... [Friday, Nov. 2nd, 2007|03:16 pm]
[Current Mood | content]

Sorry that I haven't been updating my blog for sooooo long! Having exam blues. Sigh. I think I'm really old liao, can't seem to study as well as I did like...ermmm...a few months ago? Haha. Anyway, I passed Module 1A on my first try yesterday! YAY!!! Next up will be Module 5 which I heard is much easier than Module 1A (phew!).

2 more weeks to my first day of work. I'm excited and scared at the same time. Hope I'll enjoy what I do. This has afterall been my ambition since Sec 3. Haha.

I took a break from studying and met up for dinner with Ann, Yun and Chevy/Shiver last Sat.

MUAHAHAHA, the ice-cream (named 'Massive Attack') was bigger than Chevy's face! The chocolate ice-cream on top was nice, but not the whip cream and drain-water-like substance underneath which constitutes a major part of the whole.....thing. *pukes*

And Yun managed to tie a knot with the cherry stalk using her tongue! She must be a great kisser! *muacks*

Btw, I'm so crazy about Melody and Kuromi. Ask the 3 of them and they will know. Haha. I saw 1 Melody-Kuromi X'mas ornament at Novena Square (Is that the name of the shopping mall???) and it's superrr cute! Gonna go get it soon. *grins*

Meeting up with the Gang from school tomorrow. Will update again with pics. Til then! Lovelove.

Pictures Galore! [Friday, Oct. 12th, 2007|04:54 pm]
[Current Mood | hopeful]

It's been a long time since I posted pictures on my blog. You guys must be bored to death hearing my complaints all these while. Haha. So I'll be posting my long-overdued pictures today!!!

Oh btw, I've found a job!!! After being fussy for so many weeks, I've finally found one that I really wanted! (: The pay isn't very good but the things that matter most to me now are career progression and interest. (: Money can wait since I have a whole lifetime ahead of me to earn them. I just need to gain the relevant work experience first.

So now, PICTURES!!!

Chloe and I at the Lime Flea Market. (:

*

And my beloveds from Shanghai came to town last week!!!

My cousin and I met them on Wednesday for some Italian food at Bonta and then headed down to Altivo @ Mt. Faber for some drinks!

Altivo was super nice!

And I'm definitely an alcoholic. I started with a glass of white wine at Bonta, then another glass of white wine, and ended off with a glass of red wine before leaving for Altivo. At Altivo, I had a lychee martini which I finished in like 15 mins (haha). Then I ordered a glass of seabreeze. I just can't seem to stop once I start drinking. *slurp*

*

Then it was the big family reunion @ Peach Garden on Friday!

...During dinner...

...After dinner...

Then it was off to Clarke Quay!

Went to the newly-opened LUNAR first and it was oh-so-boring. Totally like Dragonfly with the live band singing chinese songs and all. The only difference is the very porno-like paintings on their ceilings (all of Asian girls to complement the Asian theme) and their more 'sophisticated' stage with the fire and confetti etc.

Then, it was time for MOS!

It was like free flow drinks all night. Haha.

Then GQ, Deqi and I went to Thomson for some Ba Chor Mee after that. Had a pretty long chat until 5+am. (: If only I have a car. I'll be asking friends out for supper every night loh! Sometimes, it's nice to just sit down, eat and chat all night long. (Hinthint: Heng...fix a day for our chat-til-sunrise session!!!)

*

Jiayue + Lina + Cousin + Me went to Night Safari on Wednesday night just this week! Jiayue and Lina are our manicurists! *grins* I love all the animals so much.

Just a group photo. With their 'No Flash' policy, the place is basically too dark to take any photos. Wait til I go to the zoo then I will take lots of pictures ok? (: The famous hokkien mee at AMK Ave 10 was a really satisfying supper for us after 'hiking' around Night Safari the whole night.

*

Dinner at Newton Food Centre with Bing & Co yesterday!

Dinner was super filling. And we had fun taking pictures with Yee How's mahjong bracelet. Hahaha.

*

More activities and meet-ups coming up next week!

Also, I just joined Facebook (the-super-duper-innest-thing-right-now)! But it's super confusing. Very difficult to play leh. Can someone teach me please?

Irritated. Naggy. Fiery-tempered. Complains about everything. [Saturday, Oct. 6th, 2007|01:10 pm]
[Current Mood | grumpy]

I typed and re-typed this entry so many times. And then I decided not to blog about it anymore. Just look at the title of my entry for the general idea.

I'm having a hard time explaining things these days. Super irritated. Like I said before, I have lost the ability to express myself. Or perhaps some things are better left unsaid and I knew it in my heart.

Just don't be a paranoid and think that I'm referring to you. Because I'm NOT. Please do not think too highly of yourself.

My head is getting so big from my own secrets + other people's secrets. I'm a secrets-keeper and I enjoy being one. *laughs at myself*

My toughest interview (or so I think) is coming up next week. Wish me luck! (:

And I feel nauseated these days. Stupid weather. I hate it.

Pictures to post, will blog again later after I've done all my stuff and if I feel like it.

Laters!

p/s: Special thanks to some friends - Angeline, Heng, GQ and Deqi. You may not know why I'm thanking you, but you made me feel that you really understand. *hugs*

??????????????????????????????????????????? [Saturday, Sep. 29th, 2007|01:24 am]
[Current Mood | pensive]

Been really busy these days. No kidding.

Busy prowling for jobs everywhere. Busy accepting job interviews. Busy rejecting job interviews. Busy answering phone calls from job agencies/FIs early in the morning (disrupting my sleep but it's okay since it's for the sake of my future). Busy rushing back and forth CBD area every 2 days or so. And now, I don't even know what I really want anymore. Should I still be so fussy? Or should I just take any job that comes my way? Although it has only been 3 weeks, job-hunting is already starting to take its toil on me. What if I'm still unemployed by the end of the year? ): But I'm determined to maintain my optimism! JIAYOU! *grins*

I managed to meet up with my loved ones from LV on Wed. It's good to take some time off just to catch up with friends. (: Chevy/Shiver, The Eccentric, is still as cute and vain as ever, although he seems tired out from all his school work. Poor thing. Angeline's culinary skills is improving rapidly, or so I heard...haha. I want to try! (: And Yun *ahem* has a bright future ahead of her! *winks* The 4 of us had loads of fun gossiping and talking nonsense as always. (: BUT WE FORGOT TO TAKE PICS AGAIN! ): So we must meet up soon again ya! Heehee.

Although I'm usually dead tired by the time I reach home, I still found some time to watch my dramas/movies. This ultimate 'me-time' is what I enjoyed most these days. (: And I realised that I've gradually developed a taste for films relating to contemporary life and emotions. Which is probably the result of reading too many Murakami-novels. Haha. Anyway, I love Rumor Has it, The Break Up, Elizabethtown etc etc etc. They forcibly push you out from the world of fantasy and inject a dose of reality into your head. This might also be the reason why I like the couple (Choi Han Sung & Han Yoo Ju) in Coffee Prince, the Korean Drama, so much. One really needs to accept the modernisation of our society.

SIGH. I'm feeling so lost in all directions, some of which I'm not convenient to tell. But I believe everything will work out just fine. (: I just hope that the 'fine' time will come sooner.

Busy with whatever [Friday, Sep. 14th, 2007|01:14 am]
[Current Mood | indescribable]

It's been awhile since I last blogged. And I have so many things to tell. But yet, I've like lost the ability to express myself in words. BAH!

Anyway, I've been super busy this week and most probably the coming weeks too. Busy sending out my resume to friends who are already working in the industry, busy playing mahjong (super down on mahjong luck, please don't jio me for any mj sessions), busy watching movies (lots of good movies recently!), busy getting lost in the maze of life, busy planning 'things' etc etc etc.

And I feel like I'm going through my teenage years all over again. Being stuck in between 'still young' and 'all grown-up' does not feel good.

On a different note, everyone knows I love Melody right? Now I'm also super obsessed with Kuromi!!! I MUST buy myself a set of Melody & Kuromi softtoys!!! I also want Kuromi's hp accessories, pouches and notebooks!!! (Better if they come in a set with Melody too!) I want to collect all their products!!! Anyone feeling generous lately? Heehee.

I love them soooooooooooo muchieeeeeeeee!!!

p/s: gonna blog about bags soon, have already decided on the bag I want to get for the next CNY! Yipeeee! But I need to find a job soon in order for that to happen. ):

I'm sadder [Wednesday, Sep. 5th, 2007|01:32 am]
[Current Mood | depressed]

I'm sadder.

***

Had a conversation with someone yesterday. And I was sad.

Had another conversation with another someone today. And I was sadder.

So everything is true then. There's no way out of it. SIGH.

There goes all the effort I've put in.

***

Results out today.

I've graduated with 2nd upper class honours. (:

I'm happy. (:

And (I think) everyone's proud of me. (:

But I can't help but feel that my lack of sleep on the night before my IM and FI paper (especially IM) is the cause of the unsatisfactory results. (I scored best for the paper that I've had the most sleep the previous night. That says something isn't it?)

I chose the wrong question to answer for IM thus resulting in me not being able to score a 1st class for it. I remember feeling groggy all thru the paper. ):

FI paper is like shit. And I knew I won't score well for it. But I think I can definitely score better if I've had enough sleep. ):

Not that the 2 results can change my class of honours, but still... I feel indignant.

***

1 blow.

2 blows.

3 blows.

Bang Bang Bang!

And so, I think I'm dead.

In the heart, and in the head.

Chalet @ Chevron 31Jul - 2Aug '07 [Wednesday, Aug. 29th, 2007|06:07 pm]
[Current Mood | hyper]

I love going to chaletssss!!! Especially one with mahjong, bbq food, liquor, cam-whoring sessions and great company! (:

Being the very-spontaneous-us, this chalet was suggested, planned and booked like just 2 weeks before! Haha, li hai ba! Special thanks to GQ's sister who made all of this possible.

Warning: You're about to see our most natural selves without any make-up on! (psst, I look ugly)

After shopping for food and other necessities at Giant, we headed straight down to Chevron at around 2pm. The place is so pretty la!!!! It's like a stretch of terrace houses with a huge swimming pool right in front of it. A pity I forgot to take pictures. ): The inside of the chalet is very well-equipped as well! And the best part is that the whole place is air-conditioned! (:

We quickly started on our feast of Long John Silver + MOS Burger and immediately began mahjong-ing while waiting for the rest to arrive. Haha, we're the ultimate gamblers!

Then it was the long-awaited bbq feast in the evening!!! GQ, the Ph.D holder in chicken-wings-barbequing, makes the world's most delicious bbq chicken wings loh!!! *drools* And the hotdogs were very very good too!!! I love bbq food!!! (:

Had another round of mj after dinner and then the drinking session everyone's been 'looking forward to' finally began! *tingting*

Taken indoors in the midst of our drinking (and snacking) session.

Taken outdoors during their smoking (and snacking again) session.

That night, we finished off 1 whole bottle of Chivas + about 1/3 bottle of vodka + approx 20 cans of beer. Wheeeeeee!!! At the end of it all, almost everyone was so tired (or drunk) that they fell asleep instantly. *Ahem* And not forgetting the snores that were heard constantly throughout the night. They made an excellent orchestra! Haha.

The next morning, we had cup noodles and mj. Then we went to the foodcourt for lunch, and came back for mj again. Haha. Our happy life just revolves around eating, drinking and mj-ing. Anyway, we had a phobia for green tea that day after the previous night. *nauseous*

Then it was bbq food again that night (albeit it being indoors coz it was raining outside)! And then mahjong again (while the rest watched movies)!

Presenting to you...

...the mahjong-addict...

...and her 3 best mahjong-kakis!

Although only the 6 of us were left, we still carried on with our 'tradition' of playing games and drinking after our final round of mj!

We finished the rest of the vodka from the previous night + another 1/2 bottle of vodka peach!!! And as you can see, we became siao by the end of the night. Haha!

But Chloe and I left after our drinking session that night. Thanks loads to the rest of the 4 for cleaning up and checking out the next day. (:

The chalet was soooooo fun!!! Love all my schoolmates loadsssss!!! So when is our next chalet??? *grins*

I love outings & gatherings! [Tuesday, Aug. 28th, 2007|03:23 pm]
[Current Mood | happy]

Am blogging my recent outings first while it's still fresh in my mind!

***

KTV Pub with The Gang 17.08.07

My first meetup with my beloveds since I came back from China! Missed them soooo much la!

We had a room all to ourselves (strange huh? it was a KTV pub leh!) and it was oh-so-cozy! It was very convenient too with the tidbits tupperware (so we can refill our tidbits bowl ourselves. haha.) and washrooms near us!

It's a miracle we only opened 1 bottle of Chivas...Haha.

Mambo next Wed ok? (: To celebrate or mourn (choi! touchwood!) our exam results! May all of us pass and graduate with flying colours!!!

Thumper, Bar None & Dragonfly with Cousin & Friends 24.08.07

With various groups of friends in different clubs, it's a club-hopping night! Wheeeeeeeee!!!

@ the newly-renovated Thumper

The Thumper now is super cool can? Gone were the days when you have to rummage thru your wallet for cash or card to pay for drinks while partying. Now you can just 'pay' by scanning your thumbprint when ordering drinks and you'll only need to settle your bill when you check out! A one-time registration is required though, where they will take your photo and scan your thumbprint. COOL RIGHT?!

Newly-made friends Michelle and Alvin (in the last 2 pics above) were asking me to join them in advertising! The starting pay isn't too bad and the job seems like fun! But private banking seems to have better prospects isn't it? Hmm...more career choices to think about. *headache* Anyway, Michelle is super pretty la!

@ the closing-soon Bar None

This is the only picture I've taken in Bar None. Haha!

Met Scott there and he took it upon himself to become my career advisor. Haha. He thinks I'll follow my cousin's footsteps to become a private banker, but he doesn't think that the job will suit me. He thinks that I should become a financial planner/insurance agent instead. -_-''' Ermm...I still think I much prefer private banking to insurance (thank you very much), but I really appreciate his efforts in analyzing my career choices for me. (:

@ Dragonfly

After countless bottles of Macallan and Chivas, we finally decided to end the night at 4+am. *yawns*

It was such a fun night meeting up with old friends and making new ones! And being told by some that they enjoyed my company coz I'm 'fun and au naturale' really made my day! (beats being told that I'm pretty imo) But sadly, the night was also a farewell party for my dearest and loveliest Michelle Jie (3rd from left in the last pic above). *sobz* She's going to Bahrain to work for 3 years!!! BOOHOO! And by the end of the night, I was suddenly missing someone soooo much! I wonder why? *ponders*

Farewell Dinner @ Bonta 27.08.07

It was Michelle Jie's farewell dinner. *sobz* And fine dining at the Italian restaurant still taste as good as ever!

Great ambience...

And these were some of the dishes we had...mozzarella cheese, foie gras, ocean trout, angel hair, lamb rack etc etc etc...*drools* I've forgotten to take pics of our soup and desserts. ):

I'm going to miss Michelle Jie soooo much! In fact, I'm starting to miss her already (even though she's still in Singapore and will only be leaving next week. Haha.)! Will definitely visit her in Bahrain if I have the chance to! Bahrain seems so exotic...hmmm...

I also met up with my favourite boy, Heng, last Saturday! We went to watch Secret - super super nice!!! And we had fun shopping and gossiping over dinner too. It really surprises me how much we have in common everytime we meet. And I really think we should get together more often. (:

On Sunday, I won $70+ from a mj session with my cousins and auntie! Yipeeeeeeee!!! 1st time won so much just by playing 20/40 cents. Happy like mad when I zi muo 5 tai plus I kept ping-hu-ing! MUAHAHAHAHA!!! More mj sessions coming up with Bing & Co and also my relatives!

Will update again soon! Buai!

Shanghai, Guangzhou & HK Trip 3rd - 12th Aug '07 (Part II) [Thursday, Aug. 23rd, 2007|12:50 pm]
[Current Mood | tired]

2nd stop: Guangzhou (7th - 9th Aug)

In the hotel. Simple love the hotel to bitsssss. It's so beautiful and comfortable! (: Btw, did you notice how I always look so horrible after a flight? Sigh.

The hotel lobby is so pretty! And there's a beautiful artificial waterfall near the lounge too (not very clear due the reflection on the glass)!

Random pics.

Didn't stay very long in Guangzhou, so there aren't many pictures. But Guangzhou feels very much like Hong Kong as everyone speaks Cantonese there too. The only difference is that they do speak Mandarin that I can understand - which is a good thing.

And then we're all set to leave for Hong Kong!

It's my first time on a train!!! *excited* Okay la, I know I sua-ku can?

3rd stop: Hong Kong (9th - 12 Aug)

This was the first thing I ate in HK and was addicted to it thereafter. I love their desserts and XO carrot cake so much! Ate them everyday except on the day of the typhoon (see below). I even tabao XO carrot cake back to Singapore for my parents okay!!! No kidding!!!

We didn't know a typhoon was brewing.

Had been raining the whole night thru and when we woke up, it was still drizzling. It was however a nice change since Shanghai and Guangzhou had been burn-skin-kinda-hot.

And then back at the hotel, we saw that the Typhoon signal no. 3 was up. Oooooo...so exciting!!! *grins*

Our plan to go to Macau was spoiled but we still went out for lunch anyway.

Love their wonton mee!!! And I'm eating XO carrot cake wherever I go! Haha.

After lunch...

We saw huge crowds of people everywhere who all seemed to be rushing home. The queues for buses were super long! It was until when I was having a picture taken with the Ninja Turtles statues that we realized the Typhoon no. 8 signal was up (look at the sign in front of the statues)!

As we were on our way back to the hotel, we saw that shops were closing, glass panels were being secured by scotchtape and masking tape, heavy sacks were stacked in front of doors etc etc etc. I can't help but feel excited! My very first typhoon experience!

Back at our hotel, nets were being put up in front of the main entrance and the Typhoon no. 8 signal was up here as well.

Back in our room, we bring you the Typhoon - LIVE!

Muahahaha, our conversation is damn funny la! Anyway, the wind in this video seemed to have already died down. Earlier on, the wind was so strong that it knocked down rubbish bins and clothes racks in shopping malls ok! And you definitely cannot walk with that kind of wind blowing against you! My cousin and I were scared to death at that point in time! *shudders*

And we were so bored in the hotel that we...

...played mi-mi-mi-ah-re-fa-so-mi! Haha, super retro can?! I'm surprised I still remember how the song goes! Heehee.

We had an early night and the day after was spent shopping, Shopping and more SHOPPING!!!

And we saw a workers' strike right in front of Harbour City!

It's funny how all the cameramen were filming us filming them. Haha.

I don't understand a word they're shouting. Maybe because it's too noisy. Or maybe because they're speaking in Cantonese.

And did I mention that the guys in HK are super cute? Even the bellboys are good-looking okay! *dreamy* On the other hand, the girls there are okay la, like Singapore standard.

Then it was Home Sweet Home the next day. BOOHOO!

(Okay, I look spastic here again.)

But actually, I was quite looking forward to going back after spending 10 days away from home. To me, Singapore is still the best!!! I love Singapore! XOXO

Shanghai, Guangzhou & HK Trip 3rd - 12th Aug '07 (Part I) [Thursday, Aug. 23rd, 2007|12:49 pm]
[Current Mood | tired]

I will be blogging backwards starting from my China-HK trip first, followed by the Chalet, then Bing's wedding (still waiting for her to pass me the photos and video). All the post-holiday-trip activities that I've had will come after. So much to blog, so little time!

***

1st stop: Shanghai (4th - 7th Aug)

Board a red-eye SQ flight at 1am from Singapore to Shanghai. Lovesssssss SQ flights with their wide variety of in-flight entertainment on KrisWorld! Didn't get to sleep much with all the people snoring on the plane + I'm having a movie marathon (haha). And I had the earliest breakfast ever at 5am!

We landed safely at 6+ 7am and a driver from my uncle's office came to pick us up! Much love and thanks to him coz he's the one who drove my cousin and I around for our massive shopping spree during our few days stay in Shanghai! Anyway, we look hideous without make-up. BAH!

We went for breakfast AGAIN and shopped around the vicinity where my uncle's office is while waiting for check-in to the hotel. The weather was sooooo hot that everyone (including my cousin and I) was simply standing outside air-conditioned shopping malls waiting for them to open for the day.

After check-in, we immediately set out again for lunch at Chen Huang Miao for our favourite Nan Xiang xiaolongbaos! And did I mention that the drivers in China are super skillful? They are able to navigate safely thru all the cars, motorbikes, bicycles and pedestrians. If it were me, I'd have killed at least 10 people already! *evil laughter*

The tangbaos and xiaolongbaos. I love the ones with crab roe!!! YUMMY!!!

And then it was time for dinner again before we knew it! (Haha! We just kept eating and eating.)

We had a lovely time with all our beloved friends and family at a beautiful, right-in-the-middle-of-a-garden Chinese restaurant called Xiao Nan Guo. Had a room all to ourselves!!! COZY! (: And my 12-yr-old cousin who lives in Shanghai is such a sweetheart! She's already taller than me! *gasp*

And then we were off to Xin Tian Di for a nice, relaxing wining session.

Xin Tian Di is pretty much the Clarke Quay in Shanghai. A beautiful place to wine and dine. On a different note, don't you think I look kind of spastic without much make-up in the photos? Argh!

@ Cigar Jazz Wine Bar

Although there were only the 3 of us (okay, plus the people whom we got to know there), it was sooooooo fun! We had 3 bottles of white wine throughout the night. Ermm, which means that we each drank 1 bottle. Woohoo! Btw, the lady who went with us works in my uncle's Shanghai office. She's our official tourguide everytime we go to Shanghai! (:

The band is good! (sorry that it's so dark, but they are the same people you see in the above pics.)

And guys who can play music are indeed charming. *grins*

(Shit! My blogging is now interrupted by Photobucket site maintenance! YouTube too! Shit! Be back to blog in awhile.)

(Okay, the maintenance is over and I'm back!)

The next day, we had dinner at Hyatt after our shopping!

Their buffet is super nice! Even their bread and butter are nicer than normal ones can?

And the view up there is breathtaking.

Sorry for the raindrops and slight reflection. But I believe you've got the gist of it.

And we met up with the relatives again for lunch on our 3rd day there. LOVESSSSS. (:

At Xiao Nan Guo Japanese Bbq restaurant. Their barbequed beef are superb! And the little aprons that they provide are too cute to be true! Haha.

In the ladies after lunch.

I love her so much luh!

And it was back to shopping again!

I'm so in love with Shanghai la!!! Food, shopping and everything else!!!

Sadly, all good things have to come to an end. ):

We spent the 4th and last day in Shanghai at my uncle's factory and office, as well as doing some last minute shopping.

And then we were off to Guangzhou! Haha, we were so bo liao!

(To be continued in the next entry which will be up shortly, coz I will exceed the entry size limit if I combine everything in one post.)

Hi everybodyyyyyy! [Wednesday, Aug. 22nd, 2007|11:47 pm]
[Current Mood | bouncy]

My first entry in livejournal! YAY!

I previously blogged at http://elyse-utopia.blogspot.com (this blogspot account will thereby be 'archived')

I made the switch because I need a livejournal account for easy buying/selling of stuff online and also because I really like some of livejournal's features!

Will be blogging almost everyday in order to clear the many many photos that I have (including those from Bing's wedding, Chalet with The Gang and my China + HK trip)! (: So do look out for them alright?

Lovelove.
